Ostravský Game Jam 2026
"p"Ostravský Game Jam is a two-day creative competition for secondary-school students interested in video game development, organised by the Secondary Technical School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science in Ostrava (SPŠEI Ostrava, 'Kratochvilka'). It started in 2024 and, according to the organisers, is the game jam with the longest tradition in northern Moravia. From Tuesday morning to Wednesday afternoon, teams of up to five create a game prototype matching a theme revealed at the opening ceremony, using almost any tool (Godot, Unity, Unreal Engine, text adventures, etc., AI allowed if declared). On the second afternoon every team presents its project. The 2026 edition is held under the patronage of the deputy governor of the Moravian-Silesian Region for education, Jan Veřmiřovský. Students from technical, art and grammar schools across the region take part, and mixed teams are encouraged. Mentors come from indie, regional, Czech and international studios, and organisers of the Game Access conference will also attend. Partners include FEI VŠB-TUO, Madfinger Games, Flying Rat Studio, Perun Creative, SCS Software, Game Access and others. Games are submitted on itch.io.
